Online learning issues

Something that’s always irked me about online education:

Education is not the same thing as “giving the answers”.

If “giving the answers” were it, school would last one day. One big pile of books with answers in them. Done.

But that’s not an education. That’s just a pile of information.

Education is where teachers create the conditions for learning to happen. The student does the work, and learning is the byproduct.

If you want to learn, you need to learn forward and participate, wrestle with challenges, and find success through your own efforts. Yes, even online.
