Telling the truth

If AI can generate a video of your exact likeness, lip syncing to your exact audio track, why bother getting a camera out and doing it “for real”?

Some argue: no reason at all. It slows you down, looks less polished, costs more money, for no obvious benefit.

Others argue: Because we feel the difference. When we notice, we move on, feeling cheated. That “hoping people don’t notice” is precisely the type of thing that dissolves brand equity.

Most agree it’s an argument about whether AI is good or bad.

It’s not, at all. It’s actually an argument about whether telling the truth is good or bad.

That’s an argument that should be much easier to pick a side on.
